Different types of trees and shrubs need different types of care, pruning helps to keep low hanging branches from touching your home and to enhance the overall health of a tree or shrub. It helps to keep your trees and shrubs structurally sound and improves appearance. It's best to prune at the end of the season when the plants are dormant.
Mulch

Placing mulch in the beds and around shrubs and trees has more than aesthetic value. It keeps weeds from growing, it slows the water evaporation into the soil so you water less often, and it insulates soil during extreme temperatures. There are different types of mulch: hardwood, pebbles, straw etc. Usually a mulch is chosen to enhance your lawn.
